Game Theory

It happened in this order.

Prof. Roy- teacher, tormentor- taught us the Prisoner’s Dilemma in 1998. ‘A Beautiful Mind’ is a beautiful movie that I watched in the Alka Talkies, Pune, in 2002, with a packet of popcorn in hand; from the last row.

The namesake book, I read later, borrowing it from brother.

In 2004, girlfriend bought me ‘Freakonomics’, I read about Prof. Schelling in it. The next year I found Prof. Aumann, when the Nobel Prize in Economics was announced.

In 2008, I watched Prof. Nash, his wife, his son having family discord on YouTube.

I saw Prof. Aumann in 2009, when he visited Pune. After being exasperated with our terrible naivety and arrogance during the Q&A hour, he refused to take any more questions.

Prof. Roy is no more. He died in 2014 of prostate cancer.

Prof. Nash died in a car crash in 2015. Prof. Schelling died in 2016, from the complications following a hip fracture.

Prof. Aumann lives. He is 90 years old.

The cooperations and conflicts of the world go on without taking any notice of their absence.
